Did you know our Rehab Hub program is covered through DVA (Department of Veterans Affairs)! All DVA White card or Gold Card holders who choose to complete their Rehab at RSS will have full access to our allied health staff, gym access, specific programs, recovery/rehab equipment and complete supervision through our Rehab Hub Exercise Rehab group sessions!
The Rehab Hub program has revolutionised the way veterans experience injury rehabilitation. Each DVA cardholder has the opportunity to see RSS practitioners up to twice per week. This will include a combination of Physiotherapy, Remedial Massage, Exercise Physiology and Chiropractics. Each DVA cardholder will be given a program leader which will guide them on the right practitioners to see weekly. The program leader will liaise with other RSS staff to ensure a specific and holistic approach to programming is given to each DVA member. The DVA member is then given access to the RSS facility between 5am and 10:45pm and is open to joining supervised group exercise Rehab sessions running every weekday morning and afternoons!
The Rehab Hub program is Australia's most extensive Rehab program for our veterans. Located just 5 minutes away from the Enoggera Army barracks, Resistance Sports Science is home to many current DVA White Card and Gold Cardholders. With decades of experience amongst our university-qualified allied health team, we ensure that each veteran is looked at in a case by case situation. Through our extensive list of external networks, all of our RSS DVA members will have access to our contact list of Doctors, claims specialists and external practitioners.
The Rehab Hub is a completely gap-free program for all veterans, meaning there is no extra cost for participating in all of the allocated benefits.
Where do I start?
Each DVA consultation commences via a quick phone call by RSS administration staff. They will discuss your needs, injuries and health-related problems to ensure you are booked with an appropriate staff member. You will then be booked in for a detailed consultation with the designated practitioner. This takes around an hour and will comprise of goal setting, exercise history, movement assessments, mobility and strength testing (if possible) and planning. The designated practitioner will create a tailored plan, detailing which practitioners you will see on a regular basis through the entirety of the program.
White Card Holders
DVA Whitecard holders are issued 13 sessions per round which are prescribed by your GP. This will entitle each DVA white cardholder to 6 weeks of the Rehab Hub program per GP referral. We recommend that all DVA white cardholders set up regular 6-week appointments with their GP to ensure the continuation of the program. Upon a new referral, your designated RSS practitioner will design a new 6-week program to continue your Rehabilitation. White Card holders will have access to 6 consultations per month amongst RSS practitioners and unlimited access to the facility and supervised group rehab sessions.
Gold Card Holders
DVA gold cardholders do not require a GP referral. They will need to show proof of their gold card and relevant DVA letters/paperwork. Like the DVA white cardholders, the Rehab Hub program will start with a phone call from the RSS admin staff. Gold Cardholders will have access to 6 consultations per month from RSS practitioners and will not need to renew a referral from their GP unless stated otherwise. All DVA Gold Cardholders will have complete access to supervised group rehab sessions as well as complete gym access from 5am to 10:45 pm.
