Unfortunately, Injuries are a part of playing rugby. The high impact, repeated accelerations and general brute force will eventually lead to an injury of some category. The outcome of your rehabilitation can be the cornerstone of your success and longevity in the sport. It can be the difference between ending your career by retirement or being forced into it!

Here’s How it Works
Upon injury, it is required that your team manager logs the injury with the Rugby Xplorer app. From here you will receive email instruction from Rugby Australia. You must see your GP and obtain a medical certificate stating the injury and any medical requirements, this can also be obtained from an ER room. This will need to be uploaded to Rugby AU. In some cases, you may be required to show proof of injury with scans or further medical documentation.
Upon completion of your insurance claim, you will be required to book with an RSS Physiotherapist Chris Mallac through the link below. Chris will deliver a report to our Rugby return to sport Specialist Dexter Leckie (Former Reds Rugby Strength and Conditioning Coach) who will then lead your exercise rehab program. Depending on the severity of the injury, you may require a multidisciplinary approach where Physiotherapy and Exercise Rehab are both required. In this scenario, our team will work together to ensure a safe and time-effective outcome for your return to sport.
All Physiotherapy, Exercise Science/Physiology and Remedial Therapy consultations will be rebated by your Rugby insurance. Our staff will send you a digital invoice which is to be lodged with the Rugby AU insurer. Each claim is valid for up to $3000 per injury. This can be used on all services at Resistance Sports Science. Please note you will be required to pay a single excess of $100 to Rugby AU and it is only applicable for new injuries.
Here’s a quick overview of the process:
1. Team manager logs injury with Rugby Xplorer

3. Obtain a medical certificate from a GP or from the treating Doctor
4. Book in at RSS to start your rehabilitation journey with our Physiotherapists and Exercise Scientists.
